FAQs
What brokers ask before they start.
Straight answers on how Sharp runs, who holds the credentials, which lenders it covers and what it costs.
Security and control
How does it work?
Sharp is an attended automation. A broker starts every request from Microsoft Teams; it runs under that broker's own login and permissions; and MFA is completed by the broker personally. It submits a legitimate pricing request to the lender's own portal, exactly as the broker or their staff would, and returns the lender's response.
Does it log in exactly the way we do?
Yes. Same portal, same login, same request. The lender's confirmation email and reference come back to you exactly as they do now.
Do you bypass two-factor authentication?
No. Where a lender portal needs a one-time code, the broker or their nominated admin provides it through the same process they use today — from their mailbox or their phone. We never bypass 2FA.
Do you store our credentials?
No. Each broker's login sits in an isolated Microsoft Key Vault and is retrieved only at the point of use, to log into the lender's portal directly as that broker. Access is per-broker, credential-isolated and logged — a step up from the shared password managers and spreadsheets most brokerages use today.
Is this approved by Microsoft?
Yes. Sharp is published in the Microsoft Teams Store, which means it has passed Microsoft's app validation, and it operates within Microsoft's best practices. It sits inside the Microsoft family: Teams, Entra ID, Azure, Key Vault, Australia East. Connecting it is the same model as connecting Salesforce or similar tools through Teams.
Is it within lender and aggregator policies?
Yes. It is a legitimate pricing request under the accredited broker's own login. We have taken the setup through major aggregators, and Connective has confirmed they have no issue with it.
Is it more secure than offshoring or handing it to support staff?
Yes. Brokerages already have admins or offshore staff entering data across lender portals. Sharp builds on that existing process and adds security to it: no shared logins, no credentials in spreadsheets, and every run logged against the broker who started it.
What data is involved?
Very little. A pricing request contains the loan scenario — amount, security, LVR, product type. No identity documents, no credit file, no application outcome. It's stored in your own Microsoft Azure environment in Australia.
Does Sharp decide anything?
No. It collects and presents the lenders' responses. The broker makes every decision, with a full comparison across the panel in front of them — which is what Best Interests Duty asks for.
Can our licensee, aggregator or IT team review it?
Yes, and we'd welcome it. Email james@secondbrain.com.au and we'll walk them through it.
Lenders and accreditation
Which lenders does Sharp cover?
All the lenders you price with in their portals. Your panel is configured for you during onboarding, and lenders are added as your panel grows.
Do I need to be accredited with each lender?
Yes. Sharp prices with your own lender accreditations and credentials. Lenders you are not accredited with are simply left off your panel until you are.
Does Sharp work with my aggregator?
Yes. Sharp sits in Microsoft Teams and prices lenders directly through their own portals, so your aggregator platform and CRM are unchanged.
Support staff
Can my support staff run pricings for me?
Yes. Support staff join for free and run pricings on a broker's panel from their own Teams identity. Every run is logged against both the staff member and the broker.
Do I still manage my own logins?
Yes, and that's deliberate. Your credentials stay yours, in your own vault, with your own 2FA. Nobody on your team — and nobody at SecondBrain — sees them.
Pricing and onboarding
What does Sharp cost?
Per broker, per month, ex GST: $190 billed monthly, $147 billed quarterly (save 23%) or $125 billed annually (save 34%). One subscription per broker; support staff are free. Brokerages with six or more brokers, talk to us.
How long does onboarding take?
Under one business day. SecondBrain provisions the workspace in your environment, connects your lender credentials, and runs a test pricing with you. You're live the same day.
